We have created a validated Pseudomonas Aeruginosa (PA) CSOM mouse model and studied the CSOM sensorineural hearing loss which the major problem occurs in children in the developing world. We observed OHC loss in the cochlear basal turn. We also revealed that macrophages are the major immune cells in the CSOM cochleae. This novel research has been published recently in the Journal of Neuroinflammation.
