ATP loaded Gold Nanoclusters could cure CSOM

Research led by Dr Bekale, in the Santa Maria Lab, was published in Nano Today and shows exciting potential for curing chronic bacterial diseases like CSOM. For the first time, we are now able to target persister cells (low metabolic bacteria) in preference to metabolically active bacteria. This first in class novel antimicrobial acts by a unique mechanism that can "freeze" cells permanently  without causing cell lysis.
