Visiting Scholar, Dr Zhixin Cao and Research Scientist Dr Laurent Bekale led work to show novel gold nanoclusters created in the Santa Maria lab were able to eradicate E Coli biofilms and were non toxic following oral administration. This has potential impact for E Coli related GIT diseases and important general safety implications for the potential broader application of gold nanoclusters delivered orally.
